Euromast
If you are visiting Rotterdam for the first time, we definitely recommend going to the Euromast for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. The 185 meter high mast is the tallest building in the Netherlands and offers a whole new perspective on our modern city.
The Euromast is also part of the World Federations of Great Towers (WFGT): the 37 most beautiful and tallest towers in the world, such as the Burj Khalifa, the Eiffel Tower and the Empire State Building.
In the Euromast it is also possible to reserve a table and have a nice dinner or just have a drink. With a wonderful view over our city of course!
From Hotel Milano the Euromast is a 10 minute bike ride, walking takes just under 20 minutes.
Market hall
These unique architectural displays are one of the most popular attractions in Rotterdam and serve as an office building, living space and market, which is filled with dozens of venues that sell international food and drinks.
During the construction of the Markthal, many historical objects were found in the ground of the construction site during the excavation. It is possible to admire these historical items at the escalators in the middle of the Markthal. Appropriately, this is called De Tijdrap.
The Markthal is an absolute must-see and is about 20 minutes from the hotel.
The Hef
During your stay at Hotel Milano in Rotterdam, make sure to visit the Koningshavenbrug, better known as De Hef. The bridge has not been used since 1993 and it previously served as a transition for train traffic. The iconic bridge was essential and a connection between the North Island and South.
The whole was replaced years ago by a tunnel in the Maas, but now and then it drops down again. Very nice to see, if you are lucky.
Hop on your bike after breakfast and you are at De Hef within 25 minutes from Hotel Milano!
Bike tour / Bike rental at hotel
A fun and typically Dutch way to admire the highlights of Rotterdam is to go on a bike tour! The Dutch are real cyclists. We cycle to work, get groceries and take the children to school in this way.
When you are in the Netherlands, you as a tourist will also notice that you see bicycles and designated paths everywhere. Thanks to all those cycle paths, as a cyclist you can drive around as safely as possible!
To get the real Dutch feeling as a tourist, cycling in Rotterdam cannot be missed on your bucket list.
During the highlight bike tour of seeRotterdam, the guide takes you past all the sights of the city. You start in the center, cycle to the Coolsingel, the Willemsbrug, Erasmusbrug, across the Kop van Zuid and towards the Markthal. The Cube Houses and the Oude Haven should of course not be skipped either.
