Activities in Rotterdam
Rotterdam offers a wealth of possibilities. Read below about some of the activities we recommend. Ask our reception staff about even more options!
Euromast
If you're visiting Rotterdam for the first time, we definitely recommend visiting the Euromast for panoramic views of the city. The 185-meter-high mast is the tallest building in the Netherlands and offers a whole new perspective on our modern city.
The Euromast is also part of the World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT): the 37 most beautiful and tallest towers in the world, such as the Burj Khalifa, the Eiffel Tower and the Empire State Building.
You can also reserve a table at the Euromast for a delicious dinner or just a drink. With a view of our city, of course!
From Hotel Milano you can reach it by bike in 10 minutes, or by foot in just under 20 minutes.

Market Hall
This unique architectural display is one of Rotterdam's most popular attractions, serving as an office building, residential space, and market, filled with dozens of establishments selling international food and drinks.
During the construction of the Markthal, many historical artifacts were discovered in the ground at the site. These historical items can be admired at the escalators in the center of the Markthal, aptly named The Time Staircase.
The Markthal is an absolute must-see and is about 20 minutes from the hotel.
Bike tour / Bike rental at hotel
A fun and typically Dutch way to admire Rotterdam's highlights is by joining a bike tour! The Dutch are true cyclists. We cycle to work, pick up groceries, and take the kids to school this way.
If you're in the Netherlands, you'll notice as a tourist that you see bicycles and designated paths everywhere. Thanks to all those bike paths, you can ride as safely as possible as a cyclist!
To get the real Dutch feeling as a tourist, cycling in Rotterdam cannot be missing from your bucket list.
On the seeRotterdam Highlights bike tour, your guide will take you past all the city's sights. You'll start in the city center, cycle to the Coolsingel, the Willemsbrug, the Erasmus Bridge, across the Kop van Zuid, and towards the Markthal. The Cube Houses and the Oude Haven (Old Harbor) are also not to be missed.

From Hef
During your stay at Hotel Milano in Rotterdam, be sure to visit the Koningshaven Bridge, better known as De Hef. The bridge has been out of use since 1993 and previously served as a rail crossing. This iconic bridge was essential, providing a connection between Noordereiland and Zuid.
The whole thing was replaced years ago by a tunnel in the Meuse, but it still sinks every now and then. It's a wonderful sight to see, if you're lucky enough to have one.
After breakfast, jump on your bike and you'll be at De Hef from Hotel Milano in just 25 minutes!
